The ten sections of the book each begin with one of her recipes, a bonus for those of us who enjoy cooking.
Most of the story takes place in the present day at Bella Vista with occasional flashbacks to World War II where the story of Tess's grandfather, Magnus, unfolds. Okay, I pretty much love all genres, but my favourite category (New Adult) is expanding into other genres WAY too slowly for my taste.
Not only is this book fresh and different, it's WELL-WRITTEN and interesting! Fast pacing, some familiar creatures, and some I haven't hung around with much in books before.
There were romantic elements (and the sexytimes were some of the hottest I've ever read)but they were secondary to the story itself, which I so appreciated.
If you're looking for sexy, action packed New Adult that ISN'T contemporary romance, then this is the book for you!
