If I had never heard the original, this collection would probably seem adequately entertaining, but as it is, it was just disappointing.. If teaching a course, I would probably use this as supplemental reading rather than a primary text (though it could also turn out that gradually-generalizing-from-examples approach works better in a course than for self-teaching). The key information providing suggested dosages and when to take it is on a few pages at the back of the book. When she falls into that pit, her books become torturous and boring to read. Tess is a strong, independent woman and easy to relate to. Most M/D's function on a much smaller scale, and indeed might lose everything, but have less to lose. there was a lot going on without really getting there with me i felt a bit disconnected .
