The book is less an in-depth biography and more like spending a long afternoon hearing how it was from those who knew him best and who can praise him at the same time they acknowledge his frailties. Her language is artful, subtle and beautiful. There's quite a difference between naming and understanding, and Spencer ignores this.
Another and much more significant problem occurs with Spencer's explanation of the minor. The handful of folks we encountered that were also using the book reported very difficult trail conditions and route-finding issues in some areas.
